The supervisory visit focused on evaluating the student’s learning outcomes and professional development gained through workplace experience. The assessment covered professional knowledge, responsibility, work management, collaboration with organisational personnel, and the application of digital content skills to support the missions of the host organisation.
During the visit, the lecturer, workplace supervisors, and student exchanged information regarding work progress, challenges, and opportunities for further skills development. The discussion aimed to ensure that knowledge acquired in the classroom could be appropriately and effectively applied in a professional working environment.
Throughout the cooperative education placement, the student applied digital content skills to support the work of the RSPG-WU Center and Walailak University Botanic Park. The assigned responsibilities included producing public relations materials, creating content for websites and social media platforms, communicating knowledge related to natural resource conservation, and presenting information about learning centres in engaging formats that could reach wider target audiences.
The placement enabled the student to experience a complete professional workflow, including project planning, information collection and analysis, content design, media production, and communication performance evaluation. These processes contributed to the development of professional competence, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills.
The integration of digital content knowledge also enhanced the RSPG-WU Center’s capacity to communicate its missions more effectively. Information concerning plant genetic conservation, local resources, biodiversity, and the activities of Walailak University Botanic Park could be presented in modern, accessible, and easy-to-understand formats suited to the information-consumption behaviours of audiences in the digital era.
The RSPG-WU Center and Walailak University Botanic Park recognise the importance of providing learning environments and professional experience opportunities for students from Walailak University and other educational institutions. Such opportunities allow students to develop their potential through hands-on practice while applying academic knowledge to create meaningful benefits for organisations and society.
Cooperative education serves as an important mechanism for connecting academic learning with real-world professional practice. It prepares students to enter the workforce with relevant knowledge, practical experience, and professional confidence while supporting the missions of Walailak University in natural resource conservation and the creative and sustainable development of learning centres.
