The edges of the leaves are deeply concave. There are 3-5 lobes. The leaves have rough hairs. The flowers are single and have large, double petals. The first bloom before noon is white. It starts to turn light pink before noon. Then turns pink and red in the afternoon. They emerge in leaf axils and at the ends of branches with 7-10 decorative stripes. The fruit is round and 5-lobed when mature. The seeds are kidney-shaped and hairy. Flowers throughout the year.
