On 14 July 2026, the Coordinating Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Walailak University, or the RSPG-WU Center, welcomed Dr. Kanitsorn Suriyaphaiboonwattana, a lecturer from the DCM Programme at Walailak University, for an onsite visit to supervise, monitor, and evaluate the cooperative education performance of Mr. Phakhawan Boonkhao at the RSPG-WU Center, Walailak University Botanic Park.

On 5 June 2026, the RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center, in collaboration with Regional Education Office 6, organized the “Botanical Classroom PLC” project in Ranong Province. The initiative established a Professional Learning Community (PLC) for teachers to exchange knowledge and develop teaching approaches based on the School Botanical Garden Program.

The RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center (RSPG–WU) organized the “Show & Share” event from 30 April–1 May 2026 at the Infinity Room, SIRIN MUSEUM, Walailak University. The event showcased FY2025 research and academic service成果 and reviewed the mid-year progress of FY2026 projects, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, monitoring, and expert feedback.

                16–19 December 2025, the RSPG Coordination Center, Walailak University organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between Walailak University, educational institutions, and local administrative organizations. The MOUs aim to provide financial and academic support for the implementation of the School Botanic Garden and Local Resource Base

The RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center (RSPG–WU) convened a policy briefing for research and academic service projects for Fiscal Year 2026, providing grant recipients and project teams with updated operational directions, reporting requirements, monitoring procedures, and online system guidelines. The meeting emphasized stronger integration between research, the School Botanical Garden Program, and Local Resource Database activities to ensure that projects effectively support Walailak University’s mission under the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative.

The RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center (RSPG–WU) participated in the 12th Academic Conference and Exhibition, “Thai Resources: Revisiting Our Wealth and Heritage,” held from 5–10 November 2025 at Maejo University, Chiang Mai Province. Under the exhibition concept “From Mountain Peaks to Beneath the Sea,” Walailak University presented research-based knowledge highlighting the rich natural resources, cultural heritage, and local wisdom of Upper Southern Thailand, while promoting conservation and sustainable utilization of local resources.

The RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center (RSPG–WU) participated in the 12th Academic Conference and Exhibition, “Thai Resources: Revisiting Our Wealth and Heritage”, on 5 November 2025 at the Chaloem Phrakiat Sports Center, Maejo University, San Sai District, Chiang Mai Province. The event brought together RSPG participating organizations from across Thailand to exchange knowledge, review conservation achievements, and explore future directions for the sustainable conservation and utilization of the country’s biological, physical, cultural, and local wisdom resources.

The RSPG–Walailak University Coordination Center (RSPG–WU) organized a two-day hands-on training workshop on the School Botanical Garden Program from 16–17 October 2025, bringing together 30 teachers and education personnel from Krabi and Nakhon Si Thammarat. The workshop combined lectures with field-based practice to strengthen participants’ skills in resource surveying, systematic data collection, and the development of local resource databases in accordance with RSPG standards.
