Walailak Botanic Park, Walailak University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chatchai Kalyanapanon, Director of Walailak Botanic Park, joined the 18th Botanical Conference of Thailand from 18–20 June 2026 at Chulalongkorn University, together with staff members and scientists from the Botanic Park.

A key highlight of the conference was the official announcement of Walailak University as the main host of the 19th Botanical Conference of Thailand in 2027. Associate Professor Dr. Chatchai represented the University in receiving the host flag, marking an important milestone for Walailak University’s role in Thailand’s botanical academic community.

The conference brought together researchers, academics, experts, students, and representatives from institutions nationwide. Research presentations covered a wide range of topics, including biodiversity, plant taxonomy, anatomy, physiology, biotechnology, genetics, forest ecology, agriculture, and ethnobotany.

Hosting the 19th conference in 2027 will provide Walailak University with an important opportunity to strengthen academic networks, promote botanical research, support young botanists, and advance plant conservation in Thailand.
