อุทยานพฤกษศาสตร์ ม.วลัยลักษณ์ เปิดตัวโดมกระบองเพชรที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของภาคใต้

                The Botanic Park Walailak University hosted an event on February 14, 2022, to celebrate the opening of the BOTA CACTUS DOME, the largest in the south, which collects cactus plants, drought-tolerant plants, succulent plants, and serves as a learning center for students and individuals on important plants of the southern region.

                Prof. Dr. Thawatchai Supadit, Acting Vice President of Walailak University, presided over the official opening of the Cactus Dome to honor this action. The action was reported on by Assistant Professor Dr. Rungrawee Chitphakdi, Director of the Botanic Park. And there will be a large number of individuals at the event who want to participate in the activities.

                The key purpose in the construction of the cactus dome, according to Assistant Professor Dr. Rungrawee Chitphakdi, was to use it as a source for collection and presentation. Plants from the cactus family, drought-tolerant plants, and succulent flora are good sources of information about important southern plants. Students and members of the general public who are interested have gone to the botanical park to study and learn about plant species. The business designed and landscaped the area. The project was completed on January 14, 2022, by Nong Nooch Landscape & Garden Design Co., Ltd.

               

                This cactus dome has collected 22 species of cactus, 3 kinds of succulents, and 12 species of drought-resistant plants, totaling 220 plants, with extra plant aid provided by Khun Kamphon Tansajja from Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden as follows: To collect and exhibit drought-tolerant plant species, one olive tree and 34 palm species totaling 106 trees were planted. It’s also a great place to learn about significant southern plant species, which adds to its beauty. It blends nicely with the surroundings of the cactus dome mentioned before. It improves the beauty of the area and attracts more tourists.
