SIRIN MUSEUM Presents “Museum for All” Vision for Thai Museum and Learning Center Recognition Awards 2026

The presentation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Chatchai Kalyanapaphon, Director of Walailak University Botanic Park, together with Ms. Saifon Jitnupong, Acting Head of the Natural History Museum Division. Through video presentations and an oral briefing, the team introduced SIRIN MUSEUM’s identity, management concepts, working processes, achievements, and future direction.

At the heart of the presentation was the concept of “Museum for All”, reflecting SIRIN MUSEUM’s commitment to developing an inclusive learning space that is accessible, participatory, and beneficial to people of all backgrounds and ages.

The museum’s approach brings together knowledge and experiences related to nature, science, research, communities, and society, creating connections between academic knowledge and everyday life while encouraging visitors to become active participants in the learning process.

The presentation highlighted a wide range of learning experiences, from exhibitions and authentic specimens to the use of technology to enhance visitor engagement. Activities are designed to encourage learners to observe, think, experiment, and take action, rather than simply receive information.

SIRIN MUSEUM also aims to provide an open learning environment for children, young people, families, communities, and members of the public, enabling people of different ages and backgrounds to use the museum as a shared space for discovery, dialogue, and lifelong learning.

A key principle guiding the museum’s work is:

“Conservation is not the responsibility of any one person; it is the future that we all create together.”

Under this philosophy, SIRIN MUSEUM seeks to be more than a place for preserving and displaying collections. The museum aims to help people understand the value of natural resources, strengthen connections between people and the environment, and create opportunities for the public to participate in the long-term and sustainable stewardship of natural heritage.

Following the presentation, the panel of experts expressed appreciation for the museum’s work and provided constructive recommendations for its future development, particularly in the areas of accessibility for diverse visitor groups, equity in learning opportunities, and sustainable museum development.

SIRIN MUSEUM will use these recommendations as valuable guidance for further improving its operations, learning services, and visitor experiences.

Participation in the award consideration process therefore represented more than an opportunity to receive recognition. It also provided the museum team with an important opportunity to review its performance, gain perspectives from experts, and explore new approaches to ensuring that the museum continues to respond effectively to the changing needs of visitors and society.

The presentation was made possible through the collaboration and support of personnel from several teams. SIRIN MUSEUM extends its appreciation to Acting Sub-Lieutenant Akkharayut Rangsimantuchat and “Pla Krim,” a cooperative education student from Walailak University, for supporting the development of presentation media.

The museum also thanks Mr. Sakda Baimiden for designing the PowerPoint presentation, which helped communicate the museum’s story in a clear and engaging way, as well as Mr. Thiwakorn, who supervised the technical systems and presentation media. Appreciation is also extended to all personnel of Walailak University Botanic Park who provided support and encouragement behind the scenes.

Every image, every slide, every story, and every contribution formed part of SIRIN MUSEUM’s continuing journey towards becoming a more inclusive, engaging, and sustainable learning institution.

Regardless of the outcome of the award consideration, SIRIN MUSEUM remains committed to serving as a learning space that connects “People – Nature – Knowledge”, while promoting equitable access to learning, encouraging public participation, and contributing to a sustainable future for conservation.

“SIRIN MUSEUM — Learn from Nature, Understand People, Grow Sustainably.”
