Walailak University Representatives Participate in the 16th Thailand Botanical

                Representatives from Walailak University participated in the 16th Thailand Botanical Conference and accepted the invitation to host the 19th Conference in 2027.
                On November 21–22, 2024, delegates from the Botanical Park and Human Resources Division, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatchai Kanlayanapaphon, Acting Director of the Botanical Park, and Dr. Premerdhi Nunsang, Acting Head of Human Resources, attended the 16th Thailand Botanical Conference at Kasetsart University.
                Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chatchai Kalyanapan was invited to serve as a co-chair and presented research on the topic, “Phylogenetic Position of Some Zingiberaceae Species in Thailand and the Evolution of Selected Traits.” Meanwhile, Dr. Premerdhi Nunsang delivered a lecture on “A Platform for Flora and Fauna Data Collection Based on Active Learning and Conservation.”
                In addition, Mrs. Ruamporn Kongchan, a scientist from the Botanical Park, collaborated with a master’s student from Kasetsart University to present a research project titled “Anatomy of Stems, Petioles, and Leaves Supporting the Taxonomy of Gnetaceae in Thailand.” Fellow scientists, Mrs. Jirangkan Pakhem and Mr. Surin Chitthaworn, also participated in the event by engaging with various oral and poster presentations of academic research.
                During the conference, the Botanical Society of Thailand honored Walailak University by inviting it to host the 19th Thailand Botanical Conference in 2027. This prestigious opportunity underscores the university’s commitment to advancing botanical research and promoting academic collaboration in the field.
